Worn & Wild: Paper and Paint Brush Experimentation

Michelle Geller

in the Oregon Woods

August 21-25, 2019

When paper is torn, glued, inked, rusted, painted, and dyed, all from a place of letting go, the unexpected happens. These papers – full of unintentional beauty – will be bound into old book covers using leather, twine and silk to create a journal that looks and feels wild, earthy and ancient.

We’ll also make paint brushes using materials salvaged and gathered from the forest around us. To further deepen the textures and richness of our journal, we’ll spend time layering with collage and lettering, adding our unique voice and story to our journal.
